Abstract

Forest Education Faculty of Forestry has a broad Unlam Mandiangin + 2000 ha, but right now the extent of diminishing returns caused by the annexation of land by the locals, so did the potential of its forests have experienced deforestation caused by forest fires that occur almost every year and the encroachment of forests and land use in part to rubber plantations and farm lands. To know the condition of forest education today, especially with regard to species composition has not been any new and will likely be much different than ten years ago, the study of this problem needs to be done. The study aims to determine the species composition at the level of the tree in natural forests in the area of secondary forest Mandiangin Education. From the results of this study is expected to be used as material information about the picture of the tree species composition of stands, in the framework of coaching and deVelopment in the future. The results showed, from the growth rate of seedlings / plants down to the level of the tree in the forest vegetation types Mandiangin Education a total of 29 species included in 15 families. For vegetation at tree level there are 11 species dominated by Madang (Neolitsea cassifolia); Margatahan (Palaquium desyphyllum); Alaban timbasu (Vitex quinata); Rawa-rawa pipit (Mangifera sp) and Pulantan (Alstonia pneumatophora). At the pole there are 11 species dominated by Alaban timbasu (Vitex quinata); Margatahan (Palaquium desyphyllum); Tengkook ayam (Nephelium sp); Madang (Neolitsea cassifolia); and Kayu sapat. While at stake, there are 9 types of the dominant Alaban timbasu (Vitex quinata); Jamai; Buluan Haduk; Jambu sakati (Eugenia sp); and Margatahan(Palaquiumdesyphyllum). Suggested immediate enrichment plant types with the kinds of local plants and the prevention and mitigation of forest disturbances in order to maintain balance and sustainable environment.
