Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the patchouli oil yield resulting from the leaf and stalk patchouli on some long time pengeringanginan, as well as knowing the quality of patchouli oil is produced from the leaves and stalk patchouli developed farmer in Stone Hill subdistrict, Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan province. Treatment time drying harnessed the wind against the leaves and stalks patchouli until certain standard can increase rendemen patchouli oil produced . On treatment time drying by utilizing the wind against leaves in four days produce rendemen highest least % and on a stalk for eight days has produced rendemen highest 3.78 % then decline by the longer time drying . Rendemen lowest is treatment without drying ( control ) good on leaves and on a stalk namely each of 1,4 % and 1.16 % . Treatment utilizing wind drying time of leaves and stalk a certain extent patchouli can increase levels of patchouly oil patchouli alcohol produced. Treatment utilizing wind drying time for 8 days resulted in the highest levels of patchouly alcohol of the same kind on the leaves (31.48%) and stalk (29,71%) and then decreases with the longer drying time utilizing wind. The lowest levels of patchouly is on alcohol without treatment (control) of drying both on the leaves or stalks that each of 22,94% and 19,73%. Based on the nature of the physical and chemical characteristics of patchouli oil (color, optical rotation, weights, types of refractive index and levels of patchouly alcohol) from the leaf and stalk, that the quality of the oil produced on patchouli without treatment (control) of drying winds relatively low compared the quality of patchouli oil drying treatment on agin, and qualify based on patchouli oils quality SNI No. 06-2385-1991
