Abstract

Abstract Teacher determined the success of education. Qualified teachers and high quality teacher was characteristic of teacher professionalism. Teacher certification was given by the government to improve teacher professionalism. The purpose of this study was to analyze the culture of teachers after getting certified funds, and to analyze the utilization of certification fund in Junior High School teachers in Hulu Sungai Selatan. Research population was Junior High School teacher in Hulu Sungai Selatan. Total population is 473 people. Research sample is 172 people. Data was obtained through questionnaires and literature. Data analysis was percentage analysis. The results showed that certified teachers had the ability to develop teaching materials, to make lesson plans, to develop the interests and talents of students, to make the environment as teaching material, and to form a reading and writing community. Some teachers still did not have a culture of scientific writing and publishing into a journal. Teachers used the funds for self-development and meet their basic needs. Thus, the certification funds had been used by teachers in Hulu Sungai Selatan for professional development of teachers. Keywords: Teacher professionalism, Certification fund
