Abstract

Pengukuran Efisiensi Harga Dengan Metode Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) Sebagai Pertimbangan Dalam Menentukan Positioning Harga Susu Bubuk Due to the lack of consumers' knowledge about the product attribute, there is an assumption that expensive products have better quality than the cheaper ones. The assumption is not always appropriate since companies' strategies intentionally determine the selling price of the products higher then their qualities so that the price of the products becomes inefficient. The research aims at measuring the relative efficiency level of the milk powder products and determining their benchmarking. The analysis used os the application of the linear programming namely Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) which - compared with other methods - has some sirengths in measuring the relative efficiency level of the multiple input and output as well. The next step is to measure the coefficient of the correlation between the efficiency level maintained by DEA result and the selling price of the products. this is done to prove that there is a correlation between the two variables. As many as 90 trademarks of milk powder in Hero supermarket in Banjarmasin are taken as samples and are divided into 7 categories. The result of the research shows that 10% or 9 of 90 trademarks of milk powder passed around in Banjarmasin are proved to be inefficient due to the efficiency level between 74.46% to 99.62% only. The result of the hypothesis analysis shows that there is no correlation between the efficiency level and the selling price of the products. The implication of ther research poves that there are producers of milk powder products, who determine the selling price of those products higher than their qualities (the price is inefficient). Besides, the result of ther research is advantageous to decide the products positioning. Keywords: Relative Efficiency Level, DEA, Correlation, Positioning
